Palermo waterfront

Palermo, ITALY 2004

with Sofie De Meester

The  Palermo waterfront project is based on a large re-qualification process with the proposal of a new organization of the existing, which considers the emptiness and the visual cleanliness the values to reach. The proposed buildings, often simple renovations of existing structures, are designed according to the principles of green architecture, defining a light and sustainable project. The specificity of the designed structures, aiming to open up the port activities to a larger commercial and public use, constitutes a key strategy to attract relevant economic fluxus from both tourists and citizens.
