The operational project of the Marina da Gloria venue and the surrounding beach area in the Flamengo Park has been designed for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in Brazil.

The different phases of the project and the 2014 and 2015 test events had defined the design in preparation of the 2016 Olympic Games, refining and verifying the venue layouts according to the needs of the different stakeholders involved, the athletes of various olympic and paralympic sailing classes, the sport federations officials, the international broadcasters, sponsors, olympic family representatives and spectators.
